Am baking these cookies for the first time tonight, using Ghiardelli semi-sweet chips instead. Batter tasted amazing. So looking forward to these! 🙂

Hi this recipe looks so easy and quick I just have one question do you make the dough balls and then refrigerate or refrigerate then make the dough balls thanks in advance

  3. PB says:

I tried these yesterday. They were very good and easy to make. My cookies turned out bigger than I expected so I had to keep them in the oven a bit longer than the suggested time. My toddler loved it!

  5. Jacklyn Wilkins says:

Awesome recipe! I will do this one again for sure! Big hit at my family party!! Maybe next time I will try with Reese’s chips instead of chocolate chips 🙂 YUM!

  6. Elisa says:

I loved how these came out for my office cookie swap, and today I tried changing out the chocolate cake mix to a basic yellow mix and mixed in rainbow sprinkles instead of chocolate chips (and I added 1/4 tsp. black walnut extract to up the flavor, but I think I may need a full 1/2 tsp). They are a HIT with my kids! I can’t wait to try some other combinations; the ease and texture are fantastic!

    1. Heidi says:

Aww ~ so glad you liked them, Elisa! Aren’t they SO simple and delicious?? Your fun flavor combinations sound yummy, too! The possibilities of mix-ins really are endless. Have fun baking!! 🙂

  7. Robyn-Leigh says:

These look great! Do you think I could substitute the cooking oil with coconut oil instead?

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Robyn-Leigh… I haven’t tried making them with coconut oil yet, but if you do… let us know how they turn out!

  8. Jan says:

Do you think the triple chocolate cookies would freeze well. I need to make a lot for a cookie exchange that falls midweek.

    1. Heidi says:

Yes… you can make the cookie dough balls ahead of time and freeze to use later. Once you make the balls, just pop them on a cookie sheet and place in the freezer for a minimum of 1 hour. Then, transfer them from the cookie sheet into a freezer Ziploc, seal, and place back in the freezer. Once you’re ready to make your cookies, simply pull them out, place on a cookie sheet {with space to spread}, as you would if you were going to bake them, and set aside. Allow them to come to room temperature {about 15 minutes or so}, then bake as normal per the instructions. ENJOY!

  9. Whitney says:

Can you freeze this dough so you can use it at a later date?

  10. Joann says:

About to pop these in the oven! Yum!

    1. Heidi Miller says:

Woohoo… they really are such tasty little treats!
