Beach Bag Essentials List
So let’s get packing that beach bag, shall we? Â Here’s what you’ll want to take to the beach…
#1 Always Take a Comfy Beach Chair
I know, I know… this isn’t going to fit in your beach bag, but a comfortable beach chair is a must-have at the beach. Â It will be the one thing that will let you stay longer into the evening without feeling achy or sore. Â My favorites are the ones that have straps on the backs so you can carry them out to the beach hands-free.

#2: Don’t Forget a Protective Waterproof Phone Case
There are two simple ways to protect your phone at the beach.
- In the sand: slip your phone into a Quart size Freezer Ziploc bag, and you can use your phone at the beach right through the bag. Â No need to take it out!
- Near the water: enclose your phone into a Waterproof Cell Phone Pouch just in case it gets splashed.
#3: When Taking Photos, a Portable Phone Charger Can Save the Day!
Now you probably won’t be spending the day on your phone, because hello… you’re at the beach!! Â However, if you’re busy taking pictures all day or you forgot to charge your phone before you got there, you’ll want to have a portable phone charger on hand… just in case.

#6: Icy Cold Water to Stay Hydrated
There’s nothing worse than feeling dehydrated at the beach, so I always make sure to take along some icy cold water. Â And of all the reusable tumblers I’ve had, my Yeti has outshined them all! Â I’ve had it for years, and just LOVE it! Â It keeps my water nice and cold for so long!

#7: Don’t Forget Snacks… that Won’t Melt
Don’t forget the snacks! Â When you’re spending the day at the beach, you’re bound to get hungry… and maybe even a little hangry as the evening rolls around, so be sure to fill your bag up with snacks that can handle the heat and won’t melt during the day.
Good Snacks for the Beach:
- Dried Fruit
- Trail Mix {without chocolate}
- Granola or Granola Bars {without chocolate}
- Salty Snacks like Pretzels or Chips {great for when you’re losing electrolytes}
#8: Hats to Protect Your Face
Keeping the sun off your face will help you protect that glowing skin you work so hard to pamper all year long! Â When I’m on the beach I always take along a wide brimmed floppy hat, and when I’m about to go out and play in the waves, I just swap it out to a baseball cap.

You’ll never regret having extra swim diapers on hand! 🙂

#15Â Quick Dry Beach Towels Are a Game Changer
After visiting Kauai, one of the first things I realized was the need for quick dry towels. Â In humid areas, things can take a long time to dry out. Â That’s why I LOVE taking along quick dry beach towels when I go to the beach now!
They’re compact, easy to stash in a beach bag, and dry out ridiculously fast compared to a traditional beach towel!
#16: Dry Change of Clothes
After a long day frolicking in the waves, nothing feels better than changing out of your wet swimsuit into a cute, dry outfit. Â And you’ll be rocking those beach waves in your hair now too, thanks to all of that salty air, so now you can swing by a restaurant to grab a bite to eat without looking like you’ve been wrestling with seaweed all day!
#17: Wet Bag for your Swimsuit
I love having my wet bag on hand to stash wet swimsuits into after changing!
