How Many Eggs Can You Pressure Cook At One Time?
For this recipe, you can actually pressure cook a full dozen eggs all at one time!
How Do You Make Hard Boiled Eggs in the Instant Pot?
It really is easier than you think! You won’t even need to use the steamer basket!
Just add water to your Instant Pot, carefully set your eggs in the pot, seal the lid, and let your Instant Pot do it’s magic!
The rack is not necessary for pressure cooking hard boiled eggs.
And trust me… you won’t believe how easy these are to peel! They’re fool-proof!
Variations:
Would you rather make your hard boiled eggs on the stove? Go for it! Here’s what you’ll do…
- Add 12 – 15 eggs to 6 quart stockpot, fill with water to the point where it covers the eggs about 1″.
- Boil for 15 minutes.
- Then follow instructions for the egg ice bath.
Hard Boiled Eggs Ice Bath:
Want to keep those yolks perfectly yellow? A hard boiled egg ice bath is your secret trick!
Here’s what you’ll do…
While eggs are cooking, fill a large bowl with ice cubes and set aside.
Just before eggs are done, add some cold water to your bowl of ice.
After the eggs are done cooking, carefully remove eggs from hot water, and immediately submerge in the ice bath.
Then place the bowl in your refrigerator until eggs have cooled. (at least 15 minutes)
After they’ve cooled, remove from cold water/ice bath, peel and you’re done!
Easy-peasy and no more icky gray rings around your gorgeous yellow yolks!
How Long Do Hard Boiled Eggs Last in the Fridge?
Hard Boiled Eggs can last 5 – 7 days in the fridge, either peeled or left in their shell.

Pressure Cooker Hard Boiled Eggs Recipe! {Instant Pot}
Ingredients
- 12 Large Eggs
- 2.5 cups Water
Instructions
- Add Water to your pressure cooker
- Carefully place eggs in bottom of pressure cooker, then lock lid in place.
- Instant Pot Cooking Instructions: Cook on Manual, High Pressure, 5 minutes
- Crock Pot Pressure Cooker Instructions: Select Beans/Chili, High Pressure, 5 minutes, Start
- Once eggs are done, naturally release pressure before removing lid.
- After lid has been removed, immediately transfer eggs to large bowl filled with ice cubes and ice water, transfer to refrigerator, and allow them to cool off in the ice bath for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, remove eggs from ice bath, dry, and store in the refrigerator for a snack in the coming days, make some Deviled Eggs, or whip up some delicious Egg Salad! ENJOY!

Do you have to make a whole dozen? Or will the timing work for 1/2 a dozen? Any modifications for 1/2 a dozen eggs?
