I’ve been hooked ever since. Seriously… I LOVE mine!!

What Does a Rice Sock Do?

Basically, a rice sock can be used as a warm compress.

It’s a simple way to naturally soothe aches and pains. You can place around your neck to relax shoulder muscles, or place directly on another sore area to target those achy muscles with warmth.

What Can You Use Instead Of A Heating Pad?

No Heating Pad? No Problem!

This DIY Rice Sock is a fabulous alternative to a traditional heating pad.

What Kind Of Rice Do You Use For Rice Socks?

Any kind of uncooked rice will work. I chose to use Minute White Rice for this rice sock and it has worked great!

Does Rice In A Sock Work?

It sure does!

I’ve personally been using heated Rice Socks for years to help alleviate aches, pains and headaches. I also love how my rice sock can be used over and over again!

How Long Do You Heat Up Rice in a Sock?

Simply heat sock in microwave for about 1 minute. If it’s not hot enough, you can add another 30 – 40 seconds.

If it’s too hot, just wait a few minutes to let it cool down a bit before using.

DIY Rice Sock Heating Pad – Supplies Needed

Here’s what you’ll need to make yours…

  • 1 Long Sock (I got these on clearance at Target)
  • 4 cups Uncooked Rice (you can use Minute white rice or long grain white rice)

That’s it. So simple!

How to Make a Rice Heating Pad

Here’s what to do…

1. Simply fill up your sock with rice.

2. Knot off the end of the sock. (like you would a balloon.)

3. When you’ve got some aches or pains, heat your rice sock in the microwave for approx. 60 seconds.

4. If it’s not hot enough, try adding 20 – 30 more seconds.

5. If it’s too hot, just wait a few minutes to let it cool down a bit before using.

6. Apply to affected area for a quick and easy DIY heating pad.
