Even though these look professional, they’re such a cinch to make!

In this first card… you can see how the original photo was taken with balloons.

To create a 3-D effect, the balloons were simply covered with a chocolate candy heart that was glued on ~ how cute is that?!?

In this second example, I love the depth and reaching effect.

Don’t you just want to reach back out and grab those lollipops?

These homemade Valentine Cards are actually SO easy to make!

How to Make 3D Valentine Cards

Here’s what you’ll do…

1. For the 3-D effect, have your child put their hand into a fist, and hold it straight out towards you. Then make the fist and hand your focal point of the picture.

2. For the Drifting Away effect, have your child hold some helium-filled balloons… you can even have them reaching up, or lifting one leg off the ground like they’re floating away.

3. Print your photos (these were printed 2×3 size)

Several Valentine\'s day cards with a sucker attached.

4. For the 3-D Valentine, use an Xacto knife to cut a small slit at the top and bottom of the hand on the photo, then insert your lollipop (these pretty, swirly heart ones came from Walmart).

5. For the Drifting Away Valentine, simply tape or hot glue a wrapped chocolate heart over the balloons.

There you have it… easy and so seriously CUTE!

Thanks again to frugal friends Brooke & Seasyn for sharing these fun Valentine’s Day Card ideas!!

Pure genius! I skipped holiday cards this year because I had just gotten out of the hospital, so now I can do adorable V-day cards instead. Now the trick is to get my 3 kids to hold their fists together so I don’t have to insert 3 lollipops per card.

    1. Jill says:

You can have all 3 kids hold a white pipe or stick of some sort, a PVC pipe or broom handle would be great. Use this as the stick for the lollipop and cut above the highest hand and below the lowest hand and insert the lollipop.
