It’s true… making this refreshing Banana and Berry Smoothie Recipe is the perfect way to power you through your busy day!

This nutrient rich, strawberry blueberry spinach smoothie recipe is a glorious way to energize your morning or afternoon!

I’ve personally been blending it on repeat for 15 years!

I admit it… I’m hooked on Smoothies packed with Berries and Spinach!  (I guess there are worse problems to be had.)  And I pinky promise you can’t taste the spinach!

Being that this has some spinach inside, it’s technically a green smoothie.  However, I just can’t drink green drinks.

So as long as you add some pretty colored fruit (especially those gorgeous blueberries), it won’t turn out green.

Let’s just say it looks a little more appetizing, and a little easier on the eyes. 🙂

You know… when it’s more of a pink/purple/blue shade!

This spinach smoothie really is an ideal snack or meal alternative.  I personally have it for lunch every… single… weekday!

If you want to give it a protein boost, you can even add a little collagen or whey protein to your smoothie.  This is great way to sneak some more protein into your day!

They sure are, and they’re also a great healthy meal alternative for breakfast and lunch.

This spinach smoothie recipe provides you with a genius way to stuff more raw veggies and fruit into your day with hardly any effort.

If you want to make the smoothie even healthier, you can simply adjust the ingredients to your preference to create the perfect customized smoothie recipe for your taste buds!

Is It Okay To Drink A Berry Smoothie Everyday?

I personally make this smoothie 5 times during the week for lunch, and I’ve been doing the same thing since 2009!  So it’s definitely worked for me!

Then on the weekend, I like to change up my meal plan to make sure I am getting other fruits and vegetables not already included in this smoothie.

Is Spinach Good For A Protein Shake?

You can easily use this Berry Spinach Smoothie base to sneak more protein into your day!

This spinach smoothie has morphed over time into my husband’s pre-workout drink of choice.

Everyday, my hubby adds plain whey protein to his portion of this spinach smoothie, just before or after his workout.  And for me… I add in some collagen powder to mine for a boost of protein.

Berry Smoothie Ingredients

It takes just a few simple ingredients to blend up the absolute best Berry Smoothie Shake…

  • Spinach – I promise you won’t taste it 🙂
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Banana
  • Baby Carrots
  • Yogurt – to give it that creamy smoothie texture we all love
  • Milk
  • Orange Juice

Optional add-ins could include ground flax, protein powder, unflavored fiber powder, etc.

How to Freeze Strawberries for Smoothies

How To Blend Spinach For Smoothie?

The easiest way to make sure your spinach is well blended, is to add the spinach the blender first, along with the milk and orange juice.

Then use the “liquify” option to blend the spinach thoroughly.

How To Make A Berry Smoothie

Blending up your own spinach smoothie is as easy as can be!

Here’s what you’ll do…

1. Blend your spinach, milk and orange juice together first.  I use the “liquify” option on my blender.

2. Once the spinach has blended well, add all other ingredients (except protein powder) and blend until well combined, and the consistency is not too thick or too runny.

3. Pour into a glass or mason jar, and you’re done!

4. Now you can sit back, relax, and sip up your fruits and veggies in one delicious drink!

Berry Smoothie Recipe

Looking for a simple way to sneak extra fruits and veggies into your day?  This brilliantly easy banana and Berry Smoothie Recipe is packed with berries, bananas, carrots... and even spinach.  And the wildest part is that it tastes AMAZING!!

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Fresh Spinach
  • 1 Banana
  • 2 Cups Orange Juice
  • 2 Cups Non-Fat Milk
  • 8 Large Frozen Strawberries
  • ½ Cup Frozen Blueberries
  • 8 oz. Yogurt (I like to use Boysenberry, Blackberry, Strawberry, or Raspberry)
  • 3 Baby Carrots
  • Optional: 1 tsp. Sugar

Instructions

  • Blend spinach, orange juice and milk together first.
  • Once the spinach has blended well, add all other ingredients and blend.
  • I like to use frozen fruit, but if using fresh fruit, you can add in some ice cubes for more of a frozen consistency. ENJOY!

Notes

If making for two, just cut the recipe in half.
