Now I’ll admit, I’ve been obsessed with Napkin Folding since I was around ten years old. I have my grandma to blame for this, too.

One day when I was sick and staying home from school, she brought over an old little treasure of a book which included pages and pages of elaborate napkin folding ideas. We spent ALL day folding napkins, and from that day on… I was captivated!

  • 20×20 inch (51x51cm) cloth napkin

Pro Napkin Folding Tips

  • For stiffer napkins, you can iron and starch prior to folding
  • My top pick for napkin folding is 100% cotton napkins
  • Smaller sizes can work, but 20×20 inch (51x51cm) is my favorite size

How to Fold Napkins Into Roses

Here’s what to do…

1. Lay napkin out flat, then fold in half into a triangle shape. (1 corner to opposite corner)

2. Now begin rolling the flat side up towards the point.

3. Stop rolling when you have about 4 – 5 inches left to go.

4. Then turn the napkin (with the point at the right) and begin rolling one end towards the other.

5. Stop again when you have about 4 – 5 inches left to go.

6. Tuck the end tightly into the front of the roll.

7. Then separate the two tails.

8. Pull down on the two tails.

9. Finally, flip the napkin over to reveal your beautiful rose!
