How Long Does Stove Top Potpourri Last?
If you’ve been wondering… can you reuse stovetop potpourri? The answer is… YES! It can actually last for 2 days!
At the end of the day, just transfer lemon slices and rosemary sprigs to a large mason jar with some water and place in the refrigerator.
Then the next day, pour back into your sauce pan, add water to get the level back up to 3 cups, add in more Vanilla, and simmer away!

What You’ll Need to Make Your Lemon Stovetop Potpourri
You’ll just need a few simple things to make your springtime stovetop potpourri…
- 4 cups HOT Water
- 2 medium Lemons, sliced
- 4 sprigs Fresh Rosemary (homegrown will have the strongest scent)
- 3 tbsp. Vanilla Extract (Imitation Vanilla actually works BEST for this, and will give off a much stronger vanilla scent) 🙂

How to Make Lemon Vanilla Stovetop Potpourri
You won’t believe how quick and simple it is to make your home smell AMAZING!!
Here’s what you’ll do…
1. Bring to a gentle boil lemon, rosemary and vanilla with water, then immediately turn heat down and let it simmer on LOW.
2. This Stovetop Potpourri is easily customizable. For a stronger scent, just add more ingredients.
3. As the water evaporates, just add more water as necessary.
4. Once you’re done simmering, you can set the ingredients and pot aside, and use it again as a simmering air freshener the next day!
