What Is Lime Sherbet Made of?
So are you wondering just what is Lime Sherbet?
Here is a simple way to think of Lime sherbet. It’s the delightful middle ground between ice cream and lime sorbet.
It’s made from milk and cream, just like ice cream. Then flavored with lime just like it’s cousin, the sorbet.

Can I Serve Sherbet Punch With A Pitcher?
With this punch it’s best to skip the pitcher.
Instead, I recommend using a punch bowl or individual glasses.
This will ensure your star ingredient of the punch, the lime sherbet, is evenly mixed with the other punch ingredients.
Can I Make This Lime Green Punch Ahead of Time?
To get the best flavors and consistency, I don’t recommend making this punch before your event.
The Sprite and ginger ale will lose their bubbles. Then most importantly, the sherbet will melt.
The trick is to only make as much punch as you need, as this punch doesn’t save well.
Can I Use Other Flavors Of Sherbet?
You can never have too much party punch inspiration.
So if you want to change up your party punch, consider giving these party punches a try that are also made with sherbet…
Green Sherbet Punch Tips for Success
Everything needs to be chilled or frozen!
So I recommend chilling the Sprite and Ginger Ale before making this punch. I don’t know about you, but warm Sprite and Ginger Ale are tough to drink! 🙂
Then mix the Sprite and Ginger Ale with scoops of the frozen Lime Sherbet just before serving.
This will give you the perfect cold and frothy punch consistency that everyone at your event will love.

Carol says
Can I substitute rainbow sherbet for lime since I cannot find lime sherbet anywhere
Heidi says
Absolutely, Carol… that will work just fine as a substitution. 🙂
Lia says
Hi! Wanting to make this recipe for my son’s first birthday party this weekend, and wondering if the recipe above is for (1) 2-liter of each type of pop, and then sherbet, or (2) 2-liters? Thank you!
Heidi says
Hi Lia ~ you’ll use one 2-liter bottle of each + the sherbet. Or if it’s a large party, the recipe can easily be doubled. Hope that helps! 🙂
Lia says
Great – thank you!!
Mary says
I made this for my moms retirement party. It was a big hit! I did use more sprite than ginger ale though. When I did equal parts it didn’t have that lime green color.
Maybe the kind of ginger ale I used caused it to be a different color than your picture.
I also figured out I needed to add the sherbert first before the soda.
Thanks for the easy but very tasty punch idea!
Heidi says
You’re very welcome, Mary… so glad everyone loved it!
Tabitha Helms says
How much does this make? Would I need to double it for a party of 30 people?
Heidi says
Hi Tabitha,
This serves approximately 22 one-cup servings. Depending on party size, you may want to double or triple the recipe. When determining amount to make, take into consideration the size of your cups, and also keep in mind that guests may want seconds. ENJOY!
Tabitha says
Awesome, thanks so much!
Heidi says
You’re very welcome… have fun at your party! 🙂
melissa says
I want to make this for my daughter’s sweet 16, and I’m thinking I’ve had this before but I’m wondering if it can be put in a gallon jug to make like a slush kind of or if it’s just clumps of sherbert floating around it?
Teresa says
The lime sherbet punch is making me thirsty. I have made it before but with only the sherbet and sprite, I will need to try it this way. Sounds so good!
Heidi says
Aww ~ thanks, Teresa! It’s so simple and yummy! ENJOY! 🙂
