if i do not own essential oils, is there anything i can substitute in place of them?

    thanks!

    1. Brittany Walker says:

Well if you do not own essential oils that’s perfectly ok Ex : sugar coffee scrub obviously it’s going to smell like coffee so any essential oil u put in there will be over powered by caffeine lol but if your looking to make a more delicate scent such as sweet pea or rose ect you will need more then the buds . Oh and check out apricot oil it’s not as heavy as some of the other carriers . absorbs in the skin very nicely . Hope this helped

  2. Angie says:

I made this last night and the smell is amazing! When I went to use it this morning it was quite hard in the jar. Is this normal?

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Angie ~ yes, that can happen when the coconut oil gets cold. If it was cold overnight, it would harden up in the jar a bit. As soon as you scoop some out and it touches your skin, it will soften and melt… hope that helps!

  3. Kelly says:

    Hi
Great Products! AWESOME site! Just curious how long of a shelf life do the scrubs have and do they have to be refrigerated?
    Thank you

    1. Heidi says:

Thanks, Kelly! This scrub doesn’t need to be refrigerated, however I like to store it in a cool dry place. Coconut oil begins to melt around 76 degrees, so that can change the consistency. I also like to use the scrub within 6 months from the time I make it. Hope that helps! 😉

  4. Ashley says:

Hi Heidi — Out of curiosity, how many ounces of scrub (approximate is fine) does this actually make?? I want to make a bunch for my friend’s bridal shower favors and trying to adjust the recipe. Thank you!

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Ashley ~ I’m not sure on the ounces, but each batch fills up 1 half pint jar. Hope that helps!
