- 1/2 cup Warm Water
- 1/4 cup White Vinegar
- 1/4 cup Blue Dawn Dish Soap
How to Make Dog Shampoo at Home
1 – Add all ingredients to a small jar, attach lid, and shake well to combine.
2 – You can use the shampoo poured out straight from the jar, or transfer shampoo into a spray bottle for easy spraying.
3 – When it’s time to wash Fido, first brush out the fur.
4 – Then rinse Fido with warm water.
5 – Spray with Dog Shampoo Spray starting at the neck and going back towards the tail (being careful to keep out of your dog’s eyes)
6 – Massage spray into your dog’s coat starting at the neck and going back. You can even use a special dog washing glove to help! (they’re great at removing any remaining excess loose hair)
7 – Rinse off your doggie with warm water, dry with towels, and send ’em off (away from you) to go shake like a wild pooch!
How Do I Wash My Dog If He Is Afraid Water?
So what do you do if your dog is afraid of baths?
Well… here’s a simple little trick…
Get a Dog Lick Mat with Suction Cups
Smear some creamy peanut butter over the lick mat, and let your dog go to town with his treat.
Once your dog has come to love the peanut butter and lick mat, you can then give it a try on the side of the bathtub or shower wall, with no water running… just to get used to where you’ll be washing him.
Then on another day, put it back on the tub or shower wall with peanut butter and let them lick and enjoy their treat while you wash them. It’s a simple little trick that just may help distract them while they’re getting bathed. Hey, it’s worth a try!
How Often Should You Wash Your Dog?
You’ll typically want to bathe your dog around every 3 weeks, or more often if they have a wild play day with the dirt and mud.
On cleanup day, don’t forget to check their nails, too!
If they don’t like having them clipped, try out a Nail Grinder!
How to Clean a Dog Collar
I love, love, LOVE dogs… but dog odors? Yeah, not so much! 😉
Dog collars have a way of picking up those doggie odors, so make sure to give your dog’s collar a clean before putting it back on!
Frugal friend Kathleen writes: “I soak dog collars and leashes in a small amount of laundry detergent mixed with vinegar and water. I had never been able to get the odor out in the past, and this works great!”
How to Clean Dog Paws After Walk
Now that Fido is all spic and span clean, you can use this simple little trick to clean their dog paws after a walk!
If you’ve got a dog like Roy boy here, you’ll know just how quickly their paws seem to attract dust, dirt, mud, and grime, right?
How could they not? That means they’re out and about playing, walking, and having fun!
Well… this Cleaning Dog Paws Trick works like a charm on dirty and muddy paws! It’s so fast and easy, too.
When your pup’s paws get dirty, simply reach for the Baby Wipes!
A quick wipe of the paws before hopping in the car or heading back in the house after a walk will keep those carpets and upholstery SO much cleaner!
Store some baby wipes in your car and keep some by the front door, and you’ll be all set! Make sure to pack extras on your road trips, too! EASY, right?
