How Much Fabric Do You Need For a Toilet Paper Pumpkin?

Well, you’ll want a minimum of 18in x 21in to make each toilet paper pumpkin.

If you don’t have any scraps at home, you can either purchase your fabric by the yard or use some ‘Fat Quarters’.

Orange and brown cottons, patterned Fall cotton prints, and Autumn flannel or plaid are all great choices!

Supplies Needed for Toilet Paper Roll Pumpkins

Here’s what you’ll need to round up…

  • 18″ x 21″ piece of Fall-patterned Cotton Fabric
  • 1 Double Roll of Toilet Paper
  • 4 – 5″ Thick Stick (or 3 cinnamon sticks)
  • Poly-Fil Fiber Fill Stuffing (or slightly crumpled paper towels or plastic grocery bags)
  • 2 Silk Leaves
  • Optional: 14″ piece of Natural Coiled Wire (usually found in the floral department of your craft store)

How to Make Toilet Paper Pumpkins (Instructions)

Here’s what to do…

1. First, you’ll want to iron your fabric to smooth out any wrinkles.

2. Then, lay out your fabric on a table and place your toilet paper roll exactly in the center.

3. Now add small bits and pieces of fiber fill around your toilet paper roll.

If you don’t have any, you can substitute slightly crumpled up paper towels, or even plastic grocery bags to add texture.

4. It’s time to roll up your pumpkin! Begin pulling up the fabric on one side and tucking it down into the center of the toilet paper roll.

Then continue the same process in small sections, until it’s all wrapped up. If you find you have too much filling, just pull some out as you go.

5. Now place your leaves near the center, and gently tuck in while pressing your stick down into the middle.

6. You can be done at this point, or if you have naturally coiled wire, you can twist a 12″ piece into a tight coil, leaving a few inches straight at the bottom.

Then simply press it down into the center next to the stick.

So cute, isn’t it?
