i LOVE this detergent!!! so simple to make and makes a ton! clean clothes and save the dough!!!
I have been using homemade laundry detergents for the last 7 months (I’m a former Tide girl!). However, I have noticed that my whites are not as white as they used to be. Is there an additive that I could use in the soap to whiten my whites? We are on a septic system, so bleach is not the answer.
Yes! Go to the Dollar Tree and get Awesome Oxygen (generic Oxiclean). I have not done this (yet), just read about it today. Good luck!
I use pink Zote soap instead of the Fels-Naptha because it whitens better. I also put Oxy-Clean in my homemade detergent. Try these things and see how it works. My whites seem just as white as they did with store-bought detergent. Even with the Oxy-Clean, my detergent cost me $20 to make, and so far it’s lasted me 6 months with an active family of 5 (at least 6 loads a week), and I still have a LOT left! So, it’s still WAY cheaper.
