These perfectly soft and chewy snowman cookies are the cleverly adorable little treats you've been looking for. Not only are they crazy easy to the kids to decorate, but they're also wildy simple to make. You'll just need 6 ingredients!
13.25ouncesBetty Crocker Vanilla Cake Mix(if using a 15.25 oz. box, increase butter to 1/2 cup)
1/3cupMelted Butter(Vegetable or Canola Oil can be substituted)
2largeEggs
2cupsWhite Frosting(Cream Cheese Frosting can be substituted)
10ouncesNestle Mini Chocolate Chips

Instructions
Gather your ingredients.
Remove orange M&M's from Minis tube, and set aside.
Combine Cake Mix, Melted Butter (or oil), and Eggs in large mixing bowl, and mix with hand mixer or stand mixer until well combined.
Cover dough and chill in refrigerator for 2 hours.
After dough has chilled, preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line large baking sheets with parchment paper.
Roll cookie dough into 1 1/2 tablespoon sized rounded balls and transfer to cookie sheet.
Bake on center oven rack for 7 - 13 minutes, or until done. (Note: Bake on the shorter end of the time range for non-stick cookie sheets & longer end of the time range for aluminum cookie sheets.)
Remove from oven and allow to cool on cookie sheets for 5 minutes.
Transfer cookies to wire racks to finish cooling.
Once completely cooled, frost cookies, and add mini chocolate chips for the snowman's eyes and mouth, and a mini orange M&M for the snowman's nose. ENJOY!
Notes
Butter: When it comes to cake mix cookies, salted or unsalted butter can be used, as the cake mix will have a little salt in it. However, I've found that salted butter will result in superior flavor.
Make Ahead Tips: These vanilla cake mix cookies are SO easy to make ahead of time! Your cookie dough can be made today, then stored covered in the refrigerator up to 2 days prior to baking your Snowman cookies.
How to Store: After your cookies have baked and completely cooled, they can be stored at room temperature, covered in an airtight container, for up to 3 days. Or, if you use cream cheese frosting, simply store your cookies in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
