Substitions to the rescue!!  I’ve been using this easy Bread Crumb Substitute for years, and actually prefer it over the real thing! 🙂
Use crushed seasoned croutons in place of breadcrumbs in your recipes. Â I also use it as a flavor-packed topping for casseroles, like in my Heavenly Hashbrown Casserole Recipe!

Bread Crumb Substitute
What You’ll Do:
- Fill a gallon sized Ziploc Bag with Croutons, and flatten out.  Roll with a rolling pin until croutons are finely crushed.  Or… you can use your Food Processor to get the job done! 🙂
- Use your seasoned crouton crumbs in place of breadcrumbs for your recipes, or as a topping to your casseroles.
- Leftovers can be stored in a mason jar in the pantry… ready for the next time you need some!
