Emily Skoglund says
I made this for our small group and it was a big hit! especially the bacon!
Heidi says
That’s wonderful to hear, Emily… I’m so glad everyone loved the Spinach Bacon Dip! 🙂
Tami says
Can you double this in a 6 qt crockpot?
Heidi says
Hi Tami ~ it may fit, but I honestly haven’t tried that. I made this in a 5.5 quart crockpot, and that is what is pictured above. However, it may change your cook time, and you will need to keep a close eye on it to make sure it doesn’t burn. If making it for a big party, I would first try using 2 separate crockpots and putting half in each, or maybe just increasing the recipe by 50% and making in your 6 quart. Hope that helps! If you do end up increasing it, let me know how it goes!
Mara says
If I use a 1.5 quart crock pot should I just cut all of the ingredients in half?
Heidi says
Hi Mara ~ hmm… that might be a little tight. If you cut it in a third that should work better in a mini crockpot. Hope that helps!
Chris Ortega says
This dip is delicious, I just leave out the sour cream and add bacon for more flavor. Delicious!!!
Terri A Huffman says
Any reason why I could not make this in the oven? (crock pot bit the dust)!
Mary C says
Do you need to drain the spinach well (like usual) in this recipe? I don’t see that anywhere. I don’t want to mess it up when I make it:) Looks delicious! Thanks!
Heidi says
Hi Mary,
There is typically no need to drain the liquid, unless the spinach you are using has an unusually large amount of liquid. Then in that case, feel free to drain the excess liquid.
Hope this helps ~ Heidi
Anna says
Should the spinach be frozen or defrosted before cooking??
Heidi says
Hi Anna,
The spinach should be thawed before you start. Hope this helps ~ Heidi
Lori says
I cannot eat pepper jack cheese any other cheese substitution?
Heidi says
Hi Lori,
You could try substituting the Pepper Jack with Mozzarella. If you do, let me know what you think!
Hope this helps ~ Heidi
Janet G Johannes says
How big of a crock pot is the spinach dip for ingredients listed?
Janet J
Heidi says
Hi Janet… a 4 quart – 5 quart works well for this recipe. Hope that helps!
Kathleen says
Couldn’t find frozen spinach at my store. So I bought fresh. How much should I use cause I’m ready to make it now. Lol
Heidi says
Hi Kathleen ~ I’ve never tried with fresh spinach, but if you do… let me know how it turns out!
Ashley says
How many will this serve?
Heidi says
Hi Ashley ~ this serves approx. 20 people. ENJOY!
Elease says
I baked a chicken breast and then smothered it in the spinach dip. It was divine.
