Monkey Bread Muffins Recipe
Kristi writes: “This is one of my favorite weekend breakfast treats for my kids. You will not be disappointed!”
I love working during tax season, because I get to bake all I want and then have people to give it away to! We don’t have to eat all of it by ourselves 🙂
Everyone seems happy with the arrangement. They get treats, I don’t get stuck with all the goodies!
Last week my boss requested Monkey Bread. I think his wife has him on a diet and he wanted some sweets… ha ha!
Monkey bread is so easy to make, but seems to make too much, so I decided to try making it into muffins. {this recipe can be used for a regular batch of monkey bread also}
These were so good for breakfast!
And I think next time I will make a cream cheese frosting to drizzle on the top and make them more like a cinnamon roll muffin!
Here’s what you’ll need to get started…

Could you do everything but bake them the night before? Refrigerate them in the muffin tin or in a Ziplock and pop in the oven in the morning? Would that work?
Carla says
Just made this for a brunch. Can’t wait to try them. They smell divine.! I bought three of the 12 oz. biscuits as stated and was able to make 24 muffins, I used closer to a Tablespoon of brown sugar/butter mixture in each muffin cup,

I used 1/2 butter and 1/2 c brown sugar and still had left over to throw away . I used the big flaky biscuits!, Albertson’s brand and 1 1/2 was enough. Crowd pleaser here!

Even better with mini chocolate chips sprinkled in!

This seems like such a yummy and easy idea–BUT WHAT IF you used refrigerated, cinnamon roll dough (comes in a can in the biscuit section) and use the icing it comes with to drizzle on top…oh yeah I am so trying that!!!
Rick says
I had a lot of sauce left over? Should you drizzle more than a teaspoon as directed?
Karyl says
I’ve made this in my bundt pan, but never even thought about doing it in muffin cups. How brilliant is this?! And since once reader also suggested adding in cubes or bits of cream cheese you can bet I’ll try that variety too. I love baking for my coworkers, and this couldn’t be easier!
Brittany says

Add small pieces of cream cheese into the pieces of the biscuits. Wow!!! Extra tasty treat.
MNGS says
I’m interested in making this & have read through the directions twice… but when & how exactly do you add the walnuts & raisins? I can’t find it. Do you put them with the dough in the cups, or are they cooked with the butter & brown sugar? Thanks.
Wendy says
Add them into the cups. I also found that there is a lot of sugar/butter mix left over. Keep it and drizzle it over the cup after they come out of the oven.
Kelley says
i made something like this and just drizzled some sweetened condensed milk over them it was easy and yummy.
Krystle says
Could you cut up apples instead of raisins?
wendy la says
I cut the sauce in half and used 2 cans of the smaller cheep biscuits. Cut the biscuits into 1/4 th put 2 biscuits in each cup. Added the raisins after I filled the cups. I used smaller muffin cup size it made 10 cups.
Love the cream cheese idea. Cant wait to try that!
