Peppermint Crunch Chocolate Cookie Mix in a Jar

What You’ll Need To Make this Peppermint Crunch Chocolate Cookie Mix Gift in a Jar:
- 1 box Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix {13.25 oz.}
- 1 bag Andes Peppermint Crunch Baking Chips {10 oz.}…
- 1 1/2″ wide Black Ribbon
- 1 quart size Wide Mouth Mason Jar
- 1 sheet Red Paper {I used a Sparkly Red Sheet from the craft store}
- Glue Dots
How to Make Peppermint Crunch Cookie Mix:
- Carefully empty entire contents of cake mix package into your jar.
- Gently pat down.
- Pour in Peppermint Crunch Pieces.
- Using your jar’s lid topper, trace a circle on your scrapbook paper, then cut out.
- Put the silver jar topper on top of jar, place your circle cut from your sparkly red paper on top, then screw on the lid.
- Cut a piece of black ribbon to fit around the middle of your jar.
- Cut a ‘belt’ piece for Santa’s belt from your sparkly red paper {I used an X-Acto knife to cut out the center}, then thread your ribbon through.
- Use glue dots on the back of the ribbon to help affix it to the jar and keep it in place, and you’re done!
- Give as a gift to friends, family, foodies, coworkers, or neighbors!
Attach a Label with Baking Instructions:
Attach a label {or add the instructions to the top of the jar’s lid} with the following baking instructions:
- Whisk together 2 Eggs + 1/3 cup Melted Butter in large bowl.
- Pour in entire contents of jar, and stir well with spoon.
- Chill dough in refrigerator for 2 hours.
- Form cookie dough balls & bake on parchment lined cookie sheets.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 7 – 13 minutes, or until done.

Can i use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate

Hi Anaya ~ the Milk Chocolate will definitely change the flavor. If you can’t find Dark Chocolate, maybe try Chocolate Fudge? That flavor works really well with this recipe, too. 🙂 Hope that helps!!

Could you use smashed up candy canes instead of peppermint chips? They are something we don’t get in New Zealand.

Hi Julie ~ these peppermint chips are softer… almost more like a chocolate. If using smashed up candy canes, here’s a different recipe that I’d suggest:
